Tamaulipas has an abundant natural wealth in their 432 kilometers of coastline, dams, lakes, and lagoons that privilege the practice of sport fishing. The state counts with fishing stadiums distinguished by its crystal clear waters such as the Vicente Guerrero, Falcon International Dam, Marte R. Gómez, Emilio Portes Gil, República Española, Las Blanca, Lavaderos, Pedro J. Méndez and Ramiro Caballero. The species that you can find in our dams are Carp, Catfish, and Bass, they have given Tamaulipas the first place in sport fishing.Several tournaments are held in these waters with magnificent prizes and large fish that are very attractive to our visitors. Sport fishing in saltwater is very popular on beaches, rivers, at the Laguna Madre, and at sea. The places where is most practiced are Playa Bagdad and El Mezquital in Matamoros, La Pesca, Bar Ostiones and Tepehuajes in Soto la Marina, Barra del Tordo in Aldama and the mouth of Río Panuco in the metropolitan area of the southern part of the state.
